Take to the skies with a Northampton hot air balloon ride from the town’s annual festival of fun and flight.

If you have ever wanted to fly in a balloon, then what better time than the Northampton Town Festival.

Held at The Racecourse in the centre of the town, Northampton Town Festival returns this July and once again, Virgin Balloon Flights will be the only operator providing passenger flights from the event.

The three-day event, which is free to attend, will take place on 6th, 7th and 8th August 2021 and offers a fun-filled weekend for all the family, with hot air balloons, a giant funfair, arena entertainment, live music and more. You can see the full weekend lineup on our What’s On page.

There are two passenger flights in the big red balloon scheduled on the Saturday and Sunday of the event- one in the morning and one in the evening – and another flight scheduled on Friday evening.

Like all Virgin flights, a ride in the big red balloon from Northampton Town Festival must be booked in advance.

Entry information:

Only passengers booked onto a flight will be allowed in the balloon arena. All passengers must wait at the security control until they are collected by our balloon crew for their flight. No family or friends of passengers are allowed to enter the balloon arena at any time.

Virgin Balloon Flights passengers have free entry to the event and will need to show their flight booking confirmation documents to security on entry. Any friends or family who are not booked onto a flight will need to pay the entry fee.
